Join Chef Jyoti for a cooking class at Wholefoods Market  Culinary Center at thier Los Altos and Cupertino store locations.

Chef Bio--

Jyoti teaches organic, vegetarian cooking classes thru the Wholefoods Culinary center calender at Los Altos and Cupertino. She is also a volunteer Ayurvedic cookery teacher for the Art of Living Foundation and teaches Sri Sri Ayurvedic cooking classes thru the Art of Living Foundation. Jyoti offers private small group cooking classes for a wide variety of clientèle-- be it childrens birthdays, corporate team building or moms nite out.  Her line of vegan coconut cardamom "Ahimsa" cookies is available for sale at the bakery of select Whole foods stores in the Bay Area.

Class 3-Vegetarian tastes from the Kitchens of Karnataka with Jyoti (Wednesday, August 29th)

6:30-8:30p $40

Join Culinary Instructor Jyoti to explore authentic light and healthful vegetarian fare from State of Karnataka. Karnataka cuisine uses coconut, curry leaves, tamarind juice, mustard seeds in abundance. Vegetable preparations are made using wet ground and dry ground spices.

On the Menu:

·        Bisi bele bhat ( rice cooked with lentils, vegetables and spices)

·        Cucumber Carrot Kosambri ("Raw" cucumber, carrot and moong dal salad with tempered spices)

·        Seasonal vegetable Palya (side vegetable dish with spices)

September – November Classes at Los Altos Whole Foods Culinary Center

Join culinary instructor Jyoti Jain for a 3 series class that will make your holiday party planning a breeze.  We start with global appetizer, moving onto entrees and end with desserts which are sure to delite your guests.

 Class 1--ADULTS: Global Vegetarian Appetizer Table Cooking Class with Jyoti (Wednesday, September 19th ) 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM | $40

Jyoti will teach you how to prepare Healthy Vegetarian Appetizers made from scratch for this years holiday party using organic and seasonal ingredients wherever possible.

On the Menu:

  • Vegetarian mini samosa pies served with tamarind chutney
  • Felafel croquettes with Tahini lemon dipping sauce
  • Vegetable parsnip and carrot  latkes with sourcream and chives
  • Polenta squares with roasted peppers, goat cheese and marinara sauce

Jyoti will show you how to prepare Healthful vegetarian entrees and sides for your thanksgiving holiday table. All entrees and sides are made from scratch using organic and seasonal ingredients wherever possible.

  • Farmers market salad with cranberries, spiced walnuts with apple cider vinaigrette
  • Potato and lentil Shepherds pie with goat cheese
  • Twice baked sweet potatoes in skin with orange juice and cardamom, nutmeg spices
  • “baked” Panko crusted green bean “fries”
